Event Review

The Wonder TwinZ brought the Connex Lists' 20th issue in with performances by Dres of Black Sheep and Just- Ice; and guest appearances by two legends of hip hops greatest pioneers: DJ Red Alert and Melle Mel. It was definitely action packed and full of opportunities to expand into other areas of the music business. These guys are worth following; their events always make you feel like you have accomplished something; it makes your day productive.

These look-alike brothers were born to entertain. Growing up on Long Island, The Wonder TwinZ turned their home’s basement into a showcase, entertaining family and friends. They used a bed sheet, strung to the hot water pipe, as their curtain. They also created a radio studio with milk crates and any piece of electrical equipment they could get their hands on…. a CD Player, tape deck, record player and microphone. Anyone who came over was fair game for an interview! 

It was their love of music and entertaining that gave them the nickname, “The Wonder TwinZ”. They’d go everywhere together, so friends started saying, “Here come The Wonder TwinZ”. The name stuck. 

After high school, one brother pursued a career as a chef at culinary school, while the other took classes for architectural design. However, they noticed they were spending more time around music and DJ-ing and decided to pursue their real love--entertaining!  While looking through the ads in The Village Voice, The Wonder TwinZ saw an opportunity to go out on the road and perform on the college circuit. They gave it a try and never looked back.
